Where is Cal Wake located?

 Discovery Bay, California.  

What kind of boat does Cal Wake operate?

CAL Wake’s 2023 Centurion FI 23 and a 2007 Malibu 23 LSV. Both wakes are perfect for beginners, but also has the capability to get as big as needed for pro-level riders. Boat is well maintained and fully stocked 10 USCG Approved PFDs.

Does Cal Wake host competition prep events?

Yes, Cal Wake does offer week or two-week long contest prep clinics. They can be done at Cal Wake or at your location. Ideally, we’ll have a group of 5-6 riders, all preparing for the upcoming competition. Every division is welcome to participate in contest prep clinics. Contact Cal Wake for pricing and details.

What’s the cancellation policy? 

For cancelling local coaching (on Cal Wake’s boat or your own), please allow 24 hour notice.

For cancelling travel coaching or Week-Long Clinics with Room & Board, please allow 7 day notice to start of your program.

Lessons cancelled past the notice date will not be refunded.

Cal Wake is dedicated to one-on-one coaching  and this cancellation policy gives us the ability to keep your spot available without overbooking, giving you the best one-on-one experience.

Is there a deposit for reserving a lesson time?

Yes, there are deposits required to book a lesson. 25% of your lesson cost will be due at the time of booking to reserve your spot.

How do I pay my deposit?

CAL Wake will send over a link to pay your deposit. Deposits are refundable if lesson is cancelled before the non-refundable deposit date. See above for cancellation policy. 

What equipment do I need? 

Cal Wake can provide wakeboards, bindings, wakesurfers, vests, ropes. We have wakeboards for all sizes and skill levels. If you want to bring your own gear, you’re welcome to. WETSUITS ARE NOT PROVIDED BY CAL WAKE

For a one-on-one lesson, do I need to bring an observer? Can I bring guests?

Yes, you can bring guests! For more than two guests, please call ahead of time to check space on the boat. 

Cal Wake will provide an observer for an additional cost.

How many people can you accommodate on a group lesson?

We can bring up to 12 people on the Cal Wake boat.

What are the requirements to do a lesson on my personal boat?

You will need a driver (and an observer in states that require it.) I can also drive your boat if you wish.

If I’m under 18, do I need to get permission from my parents?

Yes, please have your parents contact me before booking.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes, a waiver is required to ride. You will be asked to fill out a waiver on the boat when you arrive for your lesson.
